The Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Nataša Stanisavljević, and the Director General of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), Michael Spindelegger, visited the Training Center in Plandište.
During the visit, Commissioner Stanisavljević presented the center’s capacities and programs and discussed with Mr. Spindelegger potential future cooperation, trainer accreditation, and the Commissariat’s training programs.
The Training Center in Plandište was established to support the continuous development of programs and the implementation of advanced training sessions aimed at enhancing the capacities of employees in the fields of migration and asylum. The National Academy for Public Administration has accredited a special Commissariat training program for 2024. The center focuses on sustainable training initiatives and innovations, including the development of an online platform that will enable continuous professional development for employees and other institutions involved in migration management.
Commissioner Stanisavljević emphasized that improving employees’ knowledge and skills through this center is a crucial step toward institutional progress. She added that the Commissariat recognizes the center’s great potential and will continue investing in its development to transform it into a regional Training Center.
During the visit, Commissioner Stanisavljević thanked Mr. Spindelegger for his visit and expressed satisfaction with the continued successful cooperation with ICMPD, which includes promoting effective collaboration and partnerships along migration routes.
The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) was founded in 1993 and currently has 19 member states and over 465 employees worldwide. With projects in more than 90 countries, ICMPD promotes cooperation and partnerships that contribute to efficient migration management.
