Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex (LGBTI+) refugees, asylum seek ers and migrants face particularly acute challenges during their migration journeys and processes of integration. They are often subject to multiple forms of discrimination, as both migrants and people with a non-con ventional sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or sex characteristics (SOGIESC). As one key informant interviewed for this study emphasised: “I think the intersection between two communities makes it always harder. Being an LGBT and a refugee or a migrant, and especially when it comes to skin colour, race, ethnicity, and things like this, it becomes harder.
